This doesn't mean these people are in prison for the specific crime of using drugs and alcohol, but for crimes related to, and committed as a result of their poor judgment and dysfunctional thinking that’s caused by drug and alcohol use and abuse. These crimes range the full spectrum from petty theft to murder. From multiple petty thefts to multiple murders! The majority of bank robbers, armed robbers, con artists, and burglars, are doing so mostly out of desperation to feed a bad habit, rather than to buy a new Ferrari or a house in the Bahamas. The fastest growing segment of population in jails and prisons today, is habitual traffic offencers. From multiple DUI’s, often resulting in consequent manslaughter and injury offences, to multiple driving while under suspensions, the increase is staggering.

This doesn't mean these people are in prison for the specific crime of using drugs and alcohol, but for crimes related to, and committed as a result of their poor judgment and dysfunctional thinking that’s caused by drug and alcohol use and abuse. The fastest growing segment of population in jails and prisons today, is habitual traffic offencers. From multiple DUI’s, often resulting in consequent manslaughter and injury offences, to multiple driving while under suspensions, the increase is staggering.
The second fastest growing segment in prison population, is with domestic violence, sexual assaults and or child abuse, a heinous perversion caused by drug and alcohol use and abuse gone out of control. The mind that is constantly under the influence of one substance or another, or many at the same time, and then flooded with the filth of pornography, which has recently grown into epidemic proportion, becomes so distorted and warped, the resulting heinous behavior is reminiscent of the stone age. Our society and culture has become so hardened, insensitive, and indifferent, to this type of behavior, we only segregate these offenders into prisons for short periods of time, before releasing them back into society where they usually re-offend within a very short period of time. This is not merely bad behavior, but pure insanity. This behavior is so offensive that the perpetrators should be confined to mental health institutions for whatever period of time the administrators determine is necessary to fully rehabilitate them. With the jails, prisons, and courts clogged with so many new cases, many go free, only to become repeat offenders within a week or a month.
